Interpretation/ Translation Support
MIA sends interpretation volunteer members to assist with language difficulties in living welfare, educational, legal and administrative situations. There is a charge for this service.
MIA member volunteers are not professional interpreters/translators. Depending on content matter, it may be inappropriate for MIA to accept the request, or it may take a substantial amount of time for completion. Interpreters cannot answer to individual requests. Interpretation service requests should be made through MIA via public offices, consulting institutions, and other such channels. MIA volunteer translators will not undertake matters in which the translator’s signature is required; correspondence between family or friends; material for business or personal interests.
